the act of creating a stereotype of someone unworthy or evil so as to preclude the behaviors associated with this stereotype in your immediate community/social group. Commonly done by people with more power or in grooming situations to avoid accountability.
The boss was knitting the devil when he asked, "You aren't one of those people that asks a lot questions about our clients, are you? " to the new employee.
