This term originates from the rap group Souf Land. The term is used to describe Arkansas and other upper dirty souf states.

The state of Arkansas. Not to be confused with A-Town, which is Atlanta.

Bill Clinton, Jermain Taylor, and Joe Johnson all came from da A-State.
