When you take a bite of a food and are so disgusted by its flavor, or lack of, that you can't even swallow it.

Kate: "Did you try some of that zucchini bread at the potluck today?"

Lynn: "OMG! It was so gross that I had to spit it out."

Sara: "Yeah, that zucchini bread was definitely spitworthy"
