1) n. **Etymology- comes from the Earl of Sandwich, the inventor of the dish**
A food item traditionally served with certain ingrediants between two slices of bread (although certain sandwiches such as the club, have more than two slices). The ingredients can consist of anything from peanut butter to gravy.

2) v. To pin between two objects/people.

1. This ham sandwich is awesome!

2. He was sandwiched between two slabs of granite.
