(A weasel was slang for a flat iron used by tailors - the nursery rhyme refers to tailors in the UK pawning their irons to go to the pub).

"hook in" to do something aggressivley or to attack/shoot.

Australian military slang.

Close knit. Very together. A group that works well together is "tight"

Verb "to brass up".
Australian military slang for shoot.
Come from the fact that ammunition has brass cases.

We lay in ambush for a few hours, then 3 enemy came down the track - we brassed them up then fucked off.
