Morturnal

A friend who completely drops off the grid, ignores texts, and is never seen out "alive" at social events, only to suddenly reappear or "resurrect" when they need a favour, or when everyone else is completely exhausted

Dave is completely morturnal. He ignored our group chat for six months, but suddenly showed up at my house at 2:00 AM because he needed a lift home.

Morturnal

An adjective used to describe wildlife that is rarely seen alive by humans, but is frequently encountered or observed after death (for example, as roadkill on highways or as prey left behind by pets).

Hedgehogs and badgers have sadly become entirely morturnal creatures to the average commuter; we know they live in the nearby woods, but we only ever see them on the side of the road.
