1. oklahoma
A state that is actually not as bad as people think. Tulsa and OKC are a good size for a city with being too big like houston. The only thing country about most of the peopleis the attitude, and that is regarding to being friendly and waving to people(although as with everywhere some people are just dicks). Also the home state of the flaming lips.
"Man oklahoma gets a lot of good music,(especially at the stillwater bars{mike's college bar never let's down with their musical acts}).
"Yeah, except for that black eye Hanson put on it.

2. oklahoma
I have lived in Oklahoma for the majority of my life. For the most part, yes, the state is somewhat boring. Most of the towns here are rather small, and there is a strong Christian influence here (bible belt) and that hinders the education levels in some aspects.

However, this is not for the lack of teaching. It just causes some to deny certain sciences and things of the like, putting more stock into Sunday school than Public school.

With all that being said, there are some beautiful places here, if you like seeing rolling countrysides and those sort of places. There are many landmarks here, and there is a lot of history here. Oklahoma is often referred to as "Native America" due to the fact that a lot of tribes of Indian live here, having been moved here when it was considered to be the indian territory. There is a lot of culture here, and it can be a fun place to learn about the history of this country... the underlying history that is, before it became the United States. That is to say, if you are interested in learning these sorts of things.

As for modern issues, there are very modern areas here as well, just not as many as you would find in say, New York, or California. We have Oklahoma City, and Tulsa as the main urban areas. There are also other smaller cities such as Stillwater for example that offer good schools, fairly large communities, and decent entertainment.

Personally, I do not care for OKC. It is too big, and too dirty. The roa...

3. oklahoma
A state that is actually pretty urban, and not hick country outback farm. If anyone lived here they would know what was going on. There or no cows where I live. Just street, buildings, and concrete.
I'm ridin' down to Norman, Oklahoma.
4. Oklahoma
A state in the south-central U.S. that is bordered by Arkansas to the east, Texas to the south, New Mexico to the west, and Kansas to the North; Considered the southernmost great plains state by some.
Oklahoma is in the heart of Tornado alley.

oklahoma is located in the midwestern part of the u.s.
despite common assumption, oklahoma does have the wichita mountains and mount scott which is located near lawton, oklahoma. the beer percentage there as of Aug 1, 2004 is still 3%. so that is why many kids go to Texas to get they're drinks where it is 6%.
but they also have penny beer nights which is an excellent way to spend a Friday night.
the okc murrah building memorial is one of the most solemn places in american history..so go pay your respects if you're ever in town. it's very informative and respectful to the victims.
a bunch of definitions by people who've never been in oklahoma.

that's pretty stupid.

at least in oklahoma, if you find a handful of cool people, you know they're real and not like the millions of scenesters plaguing places like, say orlando.

penny beer night in oklahoma got me a DUI. but it was worth it, because the case was thrown out. thx OK!

the hicks in georgia are worse..simply because there are more of them and they're rude and stupid.

one good thing about OK, out of the many bad things, is the 1/2 and 1/2 store. you can find a prada dress there for $20 who there cares about big stupid names?

6. Oklahoma
I am a Texan by birth but am living in Oklahoma temporarlily. Tulsa is much prettier than any big texas city, and the poverty rate in Oklahoma is not nearly as bad as Texas' (last I heard Texas has the worst poverty and pollution in the nation). Texans tend to have very backwards political views, even in "progressive" Austin. "Liberal" in Texas means you don't agree with the execution of mentally retarded people, oppose anti-sodomy laws, and don't think people should be allowed to carry around fully auto machine guns. The only substantive difference between OK and TX is that TX has about 28 million people, and Oklahoma little over 3 million.
Prettier than Texas for the most part, much more mountainous on average. Nicer lakes. More of a "western", forward-looking political spirit than the arrogant, backwards political paradigm in Texas.
