A band that was formed in 1993 in Bakersfield, California, and emerged with their first album "KoRn" in 1994. The album was a hit in the metal world, as no one had heard anything like it ever before. They have since realised 7 other studio albu,s : Life is Peachy, Follow the Leader, Issues, Untouchables, Take a Look in the Mirror, See You on the Other Side, and an Untitled album. Unfortunately for KoRn, several other trash bands like Slipknot and Limp Bizkit tried to copy their sound, and gave KoRn a band Nu-Metal rep.

Line Up:
Jonathan Davis - Lead Vocals - A really unique singer with the ability to reach many different vocal ranges. He can also scream/scat, as well as play the bagpipes.

Munky - Ex-rythm/Present lead guitarist - Munky is a guitarist that tries, and tries very very hard. Although not containing the best technical skill, he does his best with what talent he has and creates some really catchy riffs (aka evolution).

Fieldy - Bassist - Although at one time probably the worst bassist in the music industry, Fieldy has really matured his sound and style and pioneered the slap-bass technique. You can really hear his skill in songs like "Here to Stay" and "Got the Life".

I am not going to both mentioning Head and David as they are no longer a part of KoRn...

Now for a more personal note. I love KoRn.
No, I am not some 12 year old kid with an attitude problem, No, I do not like Slipknot. KoRn is a band, whether or not you think they are metal, is your opinion, but like it or not, they are huge, and sell out concerts all over the world. The common misconception is that KoRn is pussy metal, or whatever the fuck you want to call it. These statements are made by ignorant people who have a) never listened to them - and - b) followed the crowd with the rest of their "true-metal" friends. My question to them is, what is "True Metal"? Metallica, Slayer? I listen to all of that, and if "True-metal" is heavy stuff like that, then black sabbath and led zeppelin arent true metal...and they are the reason metal is alive today...
Case and point, dont judge a band you dont know anything about, because your bands get trashed by people too, and dont tell me it doesnt annoy you. Accept the fact that other people like other music, and dont act the badass because you like death metal or hardcore....

Yes urban dictionary, this was mainly made to silence the shitheads who have nothing better to do than dis my music.

"True" metal head : Dude KoRn sucks why do you listen to them, only little kids like that trash.

Me: obviously not...have you ever even listened to their music...?

"True" metal head : I dont have to, I just know they suck.

Me: Thats kind of ignorant...no?

A band from blakersfeild californian. they stared in about 1993 and their first album simply titled Korn was released in 1994. Four years later korn reached mainstream fame with the release of "follow the leader" which debuded #1 and has sold 5 million copies in the U.S. alone. after that korn slowly lost popularity but they still have some die hard fans. As for korn's music's it FUCKING KICKS ASS! No on had heard anything like it before. the low sounds and jagged vocals are beyond comparisson. Korn has also brought along other bands like Limp Bizkit and Orgy. But of course you probly hate korn and the entire nu metal gerne. so let me say this. if you wanna hate somthing why Nu metal? it was only in the main stream for like a year. now its shrunk considerably. so whats the bigger threat to the music you like. a couple of nu metal groups or the main stream garbage that you see on MTV every fuckin day.
Kid one: what r u listening to?
Kid two: KORN!
Kid one: Fuck yeah!

Best Damn nu-rock band out there need I say more?
And they even pay respect to the older bands who make rock today possible.~Link doing a re-do of Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall

A seriously great band. Although their older songs were better, their new stuff still kicks ass. And no, I'm not some dumb-ass wanna-be goth who doesn't listen to 'real' metal. All you KoRn-haters that make that stupid assumption can fuck off. Anyways, they are one of the best bands ever, and are completely original. (Plus, they guest-starred on South Park, which is one of the coolest things that you can possibly do.) KORN RULES!
Some Amazing KoRn Songs Include:

Dead Bodies Everywhere
Blind
Clown
Freak On A Leash
Thoughtless
Here To Stay

A band out of Bakersfield that created Nu-Metal.

Line up:
John Davis - lead vocalist and bagpipe player. He can scream, sing, and he occasioanally does scat singing, too. His vocal styles vary quite a bit on each album.

Fieldy - Contrary to the post by Switch (dumbass).. a pretty awesome bass player. Capable of slapping, double slapping, double popping, and standard finger plucking.

Munky - The RHYTHYM guitarist for KoRn. Munky does NOT play lead, as some tards may think.. just watch any live video. It is pretty easy to distinguish what he is playing compared to Head on the recordings. Munky plays all of the droning chords (sometimes accompanied by Head), and most (if not all)of the parts that use a wah pedal. He also created the Ibanez K7 with Head.

Head - The lead guitarist of the band.. or at least he used to be. He left because he was so strung out on drugs that he turned to christianity. Plays all of higher-pitched guitar parts choruses (ie: Here to Stay, Trash, Hey Daddy, Got the Life, etc.), and generally uses less guitar effects than Munky during the verse part of the song.

David Silveria - Drummer for KoRn. Started playing with Fieldy, Head, and Munky when he was only 13; having to get permission from his mom. Uses Tama drums and hi-hat along with Paiste cymbals.

KoRn is respected by many rappers and rockers alike. They were also the second white group ever to play at the Apollo in Harlem; preceeded by Buddy Holly in the late 1950's.. quite an accomplishment. Every single ablum they have ever released has gone platinum at least once.
KoRn is the father band of the nu-metal movement.

A band that people either like or hate. I wouldn't care less if people liked them or hated them. That shouldn't matter to anyone. I am a fan but I have to say that their last two albums went lower than expected. Hopefully they would come back to become better.
I bet some obsessed fan is going to give me like 100 thumbs down.
