ghetto sand

The fine mixture of broken glass and fragmented asphalt you see in the less savory parts of a city. Its presence indicates a lack of routine street cleaning and frequent occurrences of drunks breaking bottles against the ground or brick walls. These areas are best avoided at night, especially when alone.
I took a shortcut riding my bike last night and popped my tire on some ghetto sand. I had to walk my bike the rest of the way home, I'm lucky nobody jumped me!
