A person who passionately advocates for
gender equality, encourages men to
go to therapy, and insists that women can do anything men can do. They often use pronoun identifiers (e.g., he/him) and strongly believe in
progressive social norms. However, they tend to listen more to respond than to learn, making conversations feel like debates rather than discussions.
1. "I tried to have a deep
conversation about gender roles, but the guy was such an EquiTalker—he just kept repeating the same points without really engaging."
2. "Sarah's an EquiTalker. She means well, but she shuts down any
perspective that doesn’t match hers."
3. "Dude, I mentioned that men struggle too, and this EquiTalker jumped in with a speech about
toxic masculinity before I even finished my sentence."
