A (more polite*) euphemish for apeshit which is a behavior (alleged?) noticed in higher primates in Nature (and likely more) in zoos. When one get enraged at another or threat, often the 1st response is to find the nearest (or provide) droppings and throw at the adversary.

Commonly used figuratively for anyone with volatile or explosive rage

To knowingly do something you know is wrong and risky, but to do it without thinking twice.
Joe: “I knew the project was a scam but I thought screw it, take my last 1000 bucks.”

Jack: “So you didn’t invest then?”

Joe: “No, I went full apetardio and lost it all.”
