Tip-teasing

The act of promising to send someone a digital tip (usually via Venmo or CashApp) and asking for their handle, only to ghost them immediately after they provide it. It creates a false sense of financial hope followed by total silence.

I gave that guy a great tour and he asked for my Venmo so he could ‘hook me up’ later, but he just ended up tip-teasing me.
