Norn Irn is the orginal and proper phonetic spelling of the pronunciation of Northern Ireland. A new spelling "Norn Iron" has emerged over the last decade or so. Originally from the John Pepper series of books.

"Norn Irn" is the local pronunciation of "Northern Ireland", a part of the United Kingdom which is on the island of Ireland. It is also the pronunciation for the national football team.

There is only one syllable in the second word, "Irn". The extra 'O' in the more recent spelling indicates the presence of a second syllable.
I come from Norn Irn.
