The Republican's favorite whipping boy, so to speak. Something a Republican accuses anything that he or she opposes of being part of in order to excuse their racsist and homophobic attitudes. Especially if it involves taking care of the most vulnerable amongst us. They will toss this accusation even if the thing they oppose has nothing to do with homosexuality.
Human rights has been named as part of gay agenda by Republicans.

Get the gay agenda mug.
A political term commonly used to describe what certain segments of American society believe to be an attempt by all gay rights advocates to reshape American society in such a way that straits would begin to suffer some form of descrimination. There is no proof for this, as the overwhelming majority of them simply want to be left alone and be allowed to live their lives as they wish, as is the right of any other group of American citizens.
There is no actual proof that Michael Swift's essay, the gay agenda, was meant to be taken seriously.

Bob: I really wish people would quit spray painting the word 'fag' on the hood of my car just because I’m gay.
|
Tom: They won't stop until we stop pursuing the gay agenda, convert to Christianity, and apologize for being gay.

A conspiracy theory made up by homophobic politicians to make people afraid of gay people. It claims that gay people want to turn everyone gay and destroy the west. In reality, it is made up so that these homophobic politicians will get support for trying to take away lgbt rights. Similar to the 'white genocide', 'widespread misandry' and 'femenazis', it is a made up thing made as a reactionary conspiracy theory that was made to scare people away from accepting certain groups.

Get the The gay agenda mug.
The term coined by christian radicals but later redefined by the homosexual community themselves.

The gay agenda is not a written law, a set of previously debated and agreed-upon long-term goals or an insidious plan. Denying the existence of a set of goals, especially for the gay community that quite openly strives for tolerance is no less hypocritical than claiming homosexuals are out in a mission to convert all straights. As every group the LGBT community has it's goals, it's vision of the future and is realizing it. There is no question as to if the infamous "gay agenda" exists, but what are the points most LGBT members agree on.

The first and most obvious point of the gay agenda is spreading tolerance and ideas of equality. However a more detailed and more deliberate plan can be read in, for example, "The Overhauling of Straight America"

1: TALK ABOUT GAYS AND GAYNESS AS LOUDLY AND AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.

2: PORTRAY GAYS AS VICTIMS, NOT AS AGGRESSIVE CHALLENGERS.

3: GIVE PROTECTORS A JUST CAUSE.

4: MAKE GAYS LOOK GOOD.

5: MAKE THE VICTIMIZERS LOOK BAD.

6: SOLICIT FUNDS: THE BUCK STOPS HERE

7: GETTING ON THE AIR

As the LGBT forms a loose comunity there is no law, an agenda in the legal sense and there will always be individuals who may not agree. And while finding individual homosexuals who claim not to follow any such guidelines is quite easy, looking at the changes that have already happened during the past decade it is clear that the above outline is taken very seriously.

Another example of the gay agenda at work are the words used in the context of homosexuality. While no studies have been done on it, one can easily notice certain trends. For example there is no neutral word to describe opponents of homosexual rights escalation. Homophobe or heterosexist are the only words to describe a person with such beliefs. Both imply a whole set of negative values and are a serious accusation. On the other hand, there is no word for people who are neutral or pro-homosexual. This lack of word creates an implication that one is either a bigoted homophobe, or belongs to the unnamed rest, a supporter of the LGBT community. It is no shame to call oneself a liberal or conservative, but for the lack of a better word, it is social taboo to call onseself a heterosexist.

The gay agenda is a fact. Just as it was a fact when massive homosexual protests forced to remove homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders it is a fact now as all people and facts that may hinder the escalation of homosexual rights and cultural influence, regardless if their stance be of prejudice or factual reasons, are named homophobes and branded as propaganda of bigoted religious fundamentalism.
"There is no such thing as a gay agenda"

"The gay agenda is the product of delusioned homophobic bigoted narrow-minded religious hatemongers believing we are out to get them all while the loudest of them are probably gays in denial themselves"

Homophobic version of the WMD scare the neo-conservative government conceived to gain support in the invasion of Iraq.

Where the WMD scare was aimed to inspire fear in the masses of an attack from Iraq so they'd support Bush's invasion, the Gay Agenda inspires fear in the masses of the future of their childrens' sexuality to gain support in banning gay marriages from the country.
First the WMD threat, now the Gay Agenda. What's next, the Jewish Agenda? The African-American Agenda?
