A political term commonly used to describe what certain segments of American society believe to be an attempt by all gay rights advocates to reshape American society in such a way that straits would begin to suffer some form of descrimination. There is no proof for this, as the overwhelming majority of them simply want to be left alone and be allowed to live their lives as they wish, as is the right of any other group of American citizens.
There is no actual proof that Michael Swift's essay, the gay agenda, was meant to be taken seriously.

Before getting this job, no one will give a shit about who you are. When you get this job, everyone in the country (whether conservative or liberal, Democrat or Republican, etc.) will hate you at one point or another. After you leave this job, people will either praise you to high heaven or bitch about how badly the country is doing because you were the President.
George Bush. Bill Clinton. Those two are all the examples you need of why being the President is a mistake.

An individual, group (ethnic, national, etc.), or ideology (liberalism, conservativism, etc.) that serves as the focal point for societal rage, even when this can distract from more pertinent issues.
