A ridiculous word Australians say to somehow try and offend us Brits. Of course it doenst work, name calling by our Aussie underlings is only expected when we're so great.

A total pack of stingers, that combined with New Zealanders and Americans make up the lowbreed part of the English speaking world. Actually at least the Americans are interesting. Bitter, complaining and filth, can often be found in Australia pissing off the locals, starting (and losing) fights and unsuccessfully trying to pull Aussie chicks. Often refers to winning the rugby and the ashes, but 2 things in 25 years is ok, you're all pale, ugly and in need of a better dental program. Generally not well thought of and thanks to the English education system, now the only English speaking country that cannot speak english.
Person 1: That Pom is a cunt.

Person 2: I would have called him a fuckwit, but cunt is also a solid observation.

Derogatory slang for an English person living in England. The word comes from the acronym P.O.M.E., which stands for Prisoner of Mother England, originating from Australia and New Zealand, both being English colonies. The word is actively used by most of the Australian and New Zealand public, which contradicts what most arrogant Australians claim - that it is their word. But then, the thiefs stole 'Digger' as well from the Kiwis, though most would swear the opposite.
"Hey, there's that stupid Pom on the telly!"

Pom: Prisoner Of Mother England, or alternatively, Prisoner Of her Majesty.

Suggestions that Pom comes from 'pomegranate' type references to sunburn are erroneous.

Used to refer to natives of England, or the United Kingdom more widely.

Sometimes used in a derogative manner; usually used as a term of endearment.
Australian 1- "Bloody hell cobber, looks like the poms have got the ashes for good now mate.'

Australian 2 - "Crikey! Too right, the poms are better than us at rugby as well!"

Australian 1 - "Strewth!"
