A common slang term in Minneapolis metro area. It’s a word that mainly used for emphasis of your excitement. Comparable to saying “bet” after someone gives you directions ect. If a friend gave me candy out of the blue I would go “Meerrch, thanks bro.”

Person 1 “I got a new game” , person two “Merch you got a new game”
