Canon fodder 

A character in a film which has been developed from different source material i.e. film or comic, who is killed off far too easily or has their character so dramatically changed that they bear little or no resembleance to the original characterisation
Man 1: Dude did you see the Wolverine film yet?
Man 2: Yeah, was brilliant, shame about Deadpool though.
Man 1: Yeah he total canon fodder.

Female Canon Fodder

To describe a man who is known as the side for a female when their main boyfriend is not present. Side-piece, Side-Nigga, Side-hoe
Brenda told her friend Amy that Mark was just Female Canon Fodder until she was with Aaron again.
Nathan proclaims he is Female Canon Fodder for Anna while her boyfriend is gone.

Male Canon Fodder 

To describe a woman who is used as a placeholder by a man when his girlfriend is not present. Side-hoe, Side piece
Nathan told Mark that Natalie was just Male Canon Fodder until Brianna came back from vacation.
Maria told her friend Diana that she felt like she was was just Male Canon Fodder to Henry because Amy was working and he wanted love.

cannon fodder 

Usually soldiers who are used as "fodder" during an attack to use up enemy fire before launching an attack. Cannon Fodder is usually made up of useless units that are in-expensive.
Send in the peons against the archers first then follow up with our calvary.

corporate cannon fodder 

This is similar to its' military definition except applied to the corporate world and its' culture. A low ranking employee without many skills. One who is considered expendable because he/she can easily be replaced.
Hourly workers in this company are just corporate cannon fodder. They just keep us around until we can be replaced by a computer program.

cannon fodder 

cannon fodder, meaning someone who is expendable or in simpler terms, a tool. It is a verry flexible term that is used widley in reference to politics and athletics, but most frequently in combat. The term is a military term that dates back to the civil war, troops would be sent out as distraction to the cannons, or simply as "food for the cannons" in other words, fodder means food, thus cannon fodder means cannon food.
1)Bush is Chenneys cannon fodder... what a tool.
2)in the game of rugby, Backs are Cannon fodder for the Forwards, who do all the real work
3)half of the platoon was used as cannon fodder when they went over the top of the trench.
