"Do the vellut" = Finnish slang term for taking off your pants as soon as you enter a house or an apartment from outdoors. The reason for this might (or might not) be the need to remove the long underwear and to change to less warm clothing due to the change in the ambient temperature.

I'll rather freeze a bit than do the vellut when I enter the Tennispalatsi multiplex.
