To prepare for a night of drinking at bars and clubs by drinking at home first, in order to already have a good buzz going before you get there. Cost effective.

Prior to boarding a plane, those who get nervy or have irritable bowels try and drop one in the toilet. Occasionally they do actually just need to take a crap..
