Pom = Australian & NZ slang for a British person + suffix suggesting Mongolia, windblown desert area of Asia, renowned for its banditry, unpleasant climate and remoteness from civilisation.

A derogatory term for the English. Used by Australians, albeit infrequently. An extension of the normal slang term 'Pom'. Sometimes used in regard to an English person who has lived in said country for quite some time, utilised its welfare/benefit/healthcare system and has yet to take up citizenship (in a nation where dual-citizenship is recognised).
