A health professional (usually nurse) who takes on some of the roles traditionally performed by the doctor.

I wish I could see a doctor. The noctor felt there was nothing wrong with me and I ended up in A&E two days later.

A midlevel provider of healthcare (usually a nurse practitioner or physician assistant) pretending to be a physician.

I was told that I would be seeing a physician, but I ended up seeing a noctor instead.
