It's a way of saying "in Canada" or describing Canada in relation to other parts of the world.

Ivan: "Hey Phil, you gonna be in Toronto this weekend?"
Phil: "Nah man, I'm in Vegas til Tuesday"
Ivan: "Alright, let's grab a beer when you get back mapleside"
Phil: "Sounds good, friend!"
Ivan: "I'm not your friend, buddy!!"
Phil: "I'm not your buddy, guy!!!"
Drake: "He's not your guy, friend!!!!"
