launderette

Where you go when you gotta get some clothes washed/dried and you don't want anyone to know.

They got a bunch of coin-operating machines. These places aren't as common, but you can still find 'em if you search. Some of them let you dry your clothes for only 25¢ - at least the grimy looking launderette in my town does that.
I don't know what happened, but somehow I messed up my pants. I swear I don't know how that happened. Anyways... I'm headed over to the launderette - it'll be a waste of water and electricity to use all that energy on just my pants... but I just gotta do it.

launderette

A well known girl or woman who gets "used" a lot by many guys, like a public washing machine in a launderette. She takes load after load, she gets spun in circles. She’s always there to take on the dirty laundry of those who need to unload.
Like calling a girl a "washing machine" -- she's the place where you go to clean your pipes and drop off your spunk.
Bro don't get feelings for her, she's a straight up launderette. Half the boys on the estate have already put a load in her.

Launderetiquette

Launderetiquette is the often unspoken rules or etiquette and culture around using a launderette.

Although a poster may decalre that, "those using washers have priority use of driers", it's not always obvious who's gets to use any particulary piece of machinery, washer or drier.

Launderetiquette is the angst felt by many novice launderer.
Stephen (at the launderette): Uh, sorry guys, I'm not trying to push in, but is that drier free? Only, I'm not sure what the launderetiquette is round here!
Nigel: That's my drier! You'll have to wait! You can't just wander in here and start using driers - can't you see the sign?

Person with old fashioned ideas which he is unwilling to change: Come to the disco and stop being such an old fogey!
You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
