intelligicide

(Noun) The concept of being smart and open minded enough to realize one knows a little bit about a vast and difficult (often political) subject, but not nearly enough to have an informed and defendable opinion, thus staying silent and leaving the debate to the even less informed masses, and in turn contributing to the atmosphere of slander and polarization.
Because she was afraid to defend her standpoint, Megan kept silent even though she saw clear fallacy in the logic of both sides, effectively committing intelligicide.
