Acronym for "how in the f*&%", as in "how in the f*&%" did that happen? Used to relay complete disbelief at a situation, person, group, or any other observable event, sometimes retrospectively. Often used when something attempted should be obvious, but somehow seems impossible or overlooked.

1) hitf did -that- guy end up with a chick -that- hot?
2) hitf did we not realize that global warming would be a problem?
3) hitf do I put together this goddamned IKEA furniture?
