An overwhelming display of information and data with limited insightful analysis. A presentation with excessive amounts of pure data that is not accompanied with straightforward conclusions and has not undergone rigorous processing.

General McChrystal's Powerpoint presentation was a datalanche. For an hour he showed us numbers and charts, but in the end there was no meaningful message or purpose.

Typically a series of Facebook/Twitter updates about how the poster's life sucks, ad nauseam.

Girl 1: Ashley just got dumped by her boyfriend.

When 2 or more cats run down a flight of stairs, causing a rumbling sound and knocking over everything in their path. This often due to excitement and/or food.

"What happened to you, James? You look like you got in a fight."

"No, no...I just got caught in a catalanche and was swept down the stairs."

The cascading flab that cliff-hangs over a belt buckle, or in particular, a pair of tight fitting hipster jeans. Most commonly seen on chubby pubescent girls.

When a group of two or more excited dogs race down a path/stairway/hallway/whatever.

Pronounced Dog-a-lanche

When the dogs get really excited, and want in, it is always dramatic when we open the door, as that always triggers a dogalanche.

Alt Def: When the flesh rolls of a morbidly obese individual land on you while sitting at a sporting event, public performance, or on a plane, bus, or train.

Ex. Jack almost got buried in a fatalanche when a giant fat kid sat next to him at the Tiger’s game.
