The Glad Game

Popularised by Family Guy when Stewie is at the Carnival with Rupert. Originally made up by the title character in the film "Pollyanna".

One of the activities included at the Carnival is The Glad Game, which is when you think of things that make you glad....like.

Other things which would be included in The Glad Game:
"Let's play The Glad Game"
"How do you play"
"Haven't you ever seen Family Guy? You name stuff that makes you glad, such as the first scissor cut into a fresh piece of craft paper....mmmmm, Pin Wheels, a big wedge of cake from the fare or a doodad to wear in your hat!

A lighthearted reaction upon receiving disappointing news of some sort. Usually something that isn't a particularly a big deal, esp. when it primarily affects someone else - sort of a mild schadenfreude. Sometimes doubled or tripled, and possibly said in a sing-songy voice for added comedic effect to imitate a muted trumpet, which is how the meme originated.
