SpiritCore

A subgenre of midwest emo music utilizing either soft, melancholic, or loud, almost angry vocal performances along with math-rock style guitar playing. The subject matter usually varies between songs, but is usually centered around the same subjects of its main genre.

Spiritcaching

A form of intentional exploration in which a person looks for unusual, unexpected, or seemingly out-of-place objects, events, encounters, comments, animals, or experiences — what might be described as a “glitch in the matrix.”

Unlike geocaching, where a person follows coordinates to locate a deliberately hidden container, spiritcaching has no predetermined cache or destination. The spiritcache is something encountered along the journey that seems as though it should not be there, stands out dramatically from its surroundings, or appears in an unusually meaningful context.

The person then explores the possible symbolic meaning of what was found — often using dream dictionaries, symbolism, personal associations, intuition, or other interpretive tools — treating the experience as a possible projection or communication from the subconscious mind.

Spiritcaching may involve walking in nature, traveling somewhere unfamiliar, following intuition, wandering down the street, taking a drive, asking a question, or simply paying closer attention to what unfolds around you.

A spiritcache does not have to be a physical object. An unusual comment from a stranger, an unexpected conversation, repeated words or symbols, an unlikely encounter with an animal, or a strange sequence of events can also become part of the experience and help direct the journey.

In geocaching, you search for the cache.
In spiritcaching, you discover what shouldn't be there — and ask why it caught your attention.
