The one dollar added to the asking price of an item to ensure purchase when multiple buyers are interetsed in a non-auction sales environment. Most commonly encountered when purchasing a home and there are multiple offers expected. The first documented incident of a Nischbuck was on a 2012 real estate purchase in McKinney TX involving John and Sherri Nischbach and their Realtor Joe Rider.

The asking price of a home is $345,900.00 the buyer offers $345,901.00 - the one dollar over asking price is the Nischbuck.
