Nandika is another name for the goddess Lakshmi (Sanskrit: लक्ष्मी lakṣmī, Hindi
pronunciation: ˈləkʂ.miː). Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth,
prosperity (both material and spiritual), light, wisdom, fortune,
fertility, generosity and courage; and the embodiment of beauty, grace and charm.
It also has another meaning - it means a woman who knows no sorrow; an ever-smiling woman.
