Luau is a computer language, very similar to the language lua, but modified to fit the game roblox. It is the language used in roblox developing. It is a rather slow language yet lightweight. For example, a new empty table will consume 40 bytes of RAM, and a function end will consume 20 bytes.

Noun: A contrived “Hawaiian” event attended by over weight, average, white people that consume 2x-4x their daily caloric intake in one meal, accompanied by watered down mai tais. This event is often hosted by a Fortune 500 hotel or hospitality type company and pay locals 25% above prevailing wages to hold nose and smile for said tourist that often wear Hawaiian shirts non-ironically.

Hey, the Hilton is hosting a luau tomorrow. I hear they have an all you can eat seafood and pork buffet and fire dancing. Let’s find the shirt that hides my morbid obesity and add to said obesity. I enjoy getting fatter while listening to ukulele.

Luau 

A variant of the programming language Lua, adapted for working specifically in the development environment of Roblox Studio and for publishing content with scripting to the Roblox platform. It includes globals such as "game" and "workspace" to refer to the server environment and the workspace directly.

By default, all games developed on the Roblox platform are multiplayer and therefore use client-to-server interaction. To accommodate, Luau scripts come in two main classes - Script, for performing server work, and LocalScript, for performing client work. ModuleScripts are polymorphic and apply to whichever environment they are required from, as they will not run standalone.

Luau can be generally simple to learn and has the potential to be efficient as a first programming language for young children, as Roblox is a platform often consumed by adolescents who may be inspired by other content creators/developers to create content or a game of their own and publish it to the platform.

Aalso a term for a traditional Hawaiian party.

Luau Scandle 

Belmont's darkest moment in a decade, in which 95% of the student body went to a dance with a Hawaain theme completely hammered. 10-15 students were transported to a hospital due to huge amounts of illegal substances poisining the body. The image of Belmont will never be the same.

Remember the Luau Scandle? It was quite chaotic.
