A great Police Department. Primary duty is to protect and to serve. if you live in Los Angeles or are visiting, you call 911 (The LAPD) when you need help. The Police department that maintains law and order...if there were no Police in L.A. it would so crazy and more violent.

The creators of D.A.R.E. drug abuse resistant education. Also founders of the S.W.A.T team. special weapons and tactics. involved in a shoot out with the North Hollywood bank robbers. Many LAPD officers were shot , but made sure the bank robbers were stopped...both robbers died. Very diciplined orginization. LAPD Officers cover the largest square miles of any other city while having an understaffed 9000 plus officers.
