To make it seem like you are complimenting somebody when it is clear to everybody involved that you are making fun of them and their entire life in general.

To begin with a completely reasonable concept, and then blow it up beyond all sane proportions to make it teeter on the verge of the incredulous and impossible.

A metaphor that originated in China to describe a guy or girl who is too kind to everyone to the point people start falling in love with them.
Dude, that guy at the orientation is like centralized air conditioning! He’s putting up that act for sure.
