Get the bankistan mug.Banistan is a slang parable introduced into speech by Russian mercenaries, which implies a veiled distant country (often the "third world"), where there is a war, armed conflict or other fighting.
It is used with a subtext when there is no possibility or need for disclosure a specific geographical location. The etymological meaning comes from the word banana (banana Republic) and the endings "stan", which are common to some countries and regions of the Middle East Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Dagestan, etc. A parallel is also drawn with a Kalashnikov magazine shape that resembles the shape of a banana - therefore, in Banistan on clips, and bananocplips.
