Bavarian Backwards Walk, a popular tradition and extreme sport from the region of Bavaria in south Germany. The practice consists of walking backwards up the many mountains of the Bavarian alps. The mountaineers are locally known as hamsters. Once the mountaintop is reached the hamsters will enthusiastically eat traditional German Sahnetorte (Creampie) while enjoying the view.
Commonly, the BBW-enthusiasts will only wear the traditional "Lederhosen" while being naked under. Every 6th September (6/9) the yearly BBW festival is held to celebrate the founder, Hans Koch. The hamsters will climb the mount Titz on the Austrian border to honor Koch’s birthplace, Fugging (previously named Fucking).
