most expensive console you could buy at the time it played PS1 across all PS3 consoles and some OG PS3s play PS2 games it competed against the Xbox 360 and Wii it also released with the Sixaxis controller at launch but later the DualShock 3 launched with all the features of the sixaxis controller but now with rumble
