Snowflake masculinity

A defensive performance of masculinity in which a person's identity feels so easily threatened that minor things such as fashion, aesthetics, softness, or gender nonconformity are treated as challenges to their manhood.

It often appears when someone reacts negatively to harmless self expression because it does not fit their narrow idea of what masculinity should look like.

1. "You're upset because a guy dyed his hair pink? That's some snowflake masculinity."

2. "He said men with painted nails aren't masculine. Sounds like snowflake masculinity to me."

Noun;

A concept that represents the actions of men being interpreted as 'toxic', when in the past they have been regarded as normal. This term is most commonly used by feminists to describe actions made by men that they disagree with. This term may also represent a personality trait.
