In "Thunderball", James Bond puts a hair across the bottom of his hotel room closet to see if the door gets opened while he is away. Other fool catchers are bottles tied together with fishing line on a staircase, a bell or a can of nails placed on a windowsill near the catch which will fall and make noise if the window if opened or greasing the handle of a questionable knife - if it later shows a print, it was used; if it's clean later, it was used.

Get the Fools Gold Diggermug. A fool doesn't want anybody to know there's a difference between looking like a fool or people thinking you're a fool and being a fool. A fool says they don't care what anybody thinks of them, and people that say that care more desperately than anyone else what people think of them (as all people care what people think of them). A fool thinks everyone around him/her is weaker than him/her (or sometimes just one or a few people, that way the fool can manipulate everyone else to turn against this/these enemy(ies)).
