1) a project in which you learn something new for fun, like a hobby or skill, which can be entertaining or educational
2) a semester long project in which your school forces you to learn a "school related topic" for fun

1) I am doing a passion project about animation!! I think it's really going to improve both my drawing and animation skills.
2) Passion project is fucking hell. Our teacher forced us to learn something school related for "fun" for 6 continuous fucking weeks and to present it at the end of the semester.
