Stems from the idea that upgrading one's probationary license to a full license signifies maturation; as would the entering of an 'adult' or legitimate relationship.

Dude, you should grow up and get your license upgraded.

What do you mean, I hardly drive.

No...dude you need to keep up on your lingo--get a girlfriend.

Get your scout on

To perform a facial expression which is a hybrid of scowling and pouting, in order to generate sympathy for oneself, whilst also displaying disgust or distaste for a situation.

First created by Bao in the early 1990's, scouting became increasingly popularised after 2000, with many people adopting the expression to 'get your scout on' to be almost interchangeable with 'pity whore'.

1. "Oh man! I totally pwned Bao's ass at Starcraft the other day, he totally got his scout on!"

2. "Man my girlfriend was giving me such shit the other day."

"Dude, you should totally get your scout on."

3. "Check Bao out dude, he's totally scouting you."

"Well, he'll get no pity from me. Not with that sassy attitude."

Slang used to direct another person to make a phone call. Originated out of Brantford, Ontario, Canada where one lucky household had a Harley Davidson Fat Boy Telephone. The motorcycle was a collectible novelty model that had a corded telephone hidden under the seat/gas tank.

When used by a writer (usually a columnist or a blogger), indicates that a description follows of one or more letters to the author that might be considered weird, hostile, or otherwise unusual. Comes from the title of a Perry Como album.

"So he tells me that I'm a bigot because I don't support the rights of husbands to beat their wives. I tell ya, we get letters."
