It is about 16 teenagers with superhuman talents (or none at all) called a Killing Game, where they kill 1 or 2 people, and host a trial to find the 'blackened'. If they get it right, the jury gets to leave and the 'blackened' is executed. Get it wrong however, and the entire jury gets killed. Danganronpa is a combination of the words "弾丸" (Dangan), which means Bullet, and "論破" (Ronpa), which means Refutation.
