A racist, derogatory term used heavily in the slavery-Jim Crow era, white people used this term as a label for slaves/black people in order to degrade and dehumanize them. Unfortunately, the word is still used today, mainly by (brain-dead) people who dislike black people, and ofc the pussies that feel the need to say it when you disagree with their opinion over social media,(Vice Versa)they’re behind a screen they say it Bc they know they won’t face consequences.
Reasons people use the term include:
1. family history of racism
2. the actions of one causing a person to have negative feelings about a whole group
3. area of upbringing
Ofc there’s many more but trying to keep it concise. Not just white people use this term anymore. People of all races do, bc the word itself has gained a somewhat “comedic” angle also bc of a lack of fear of consequences Bc you can’t get punched through a screen…. Yet. Blacks also say it not nigger but nigga which is a spin on the term which means “friend” or “homie”
In conclusion, this term is dated, it’s creation is deeply rooted in ignorance, hate, and years of pain. Why people think it’s funny for it to thrown around as if it’s just a some offensive joke, I will never know.
