A joint can be refered to as "Phoenix", when somebody proposes to "Rise it from the ashes", in orther words : to revive the joint and roll another one to smoke it again right after the first one.

Using a lighter to ignite the tip of the joint, place it between your soft, watering lips. When you first inhale, you don't expect much. Most likely called a mug joint because the beer was served in a mug or you might get mugged or assaulted there. Think chicken wire on the band stage to protect them from thrown beer bottles and bouncers armed with baseball bats.
