An expression used in IM (MSN, Facebook...etc) conversations. Though technically meaning "be right back", it is more commonly used as an excuse to leave a conversation with a person you don't want to talk to anymore.

Derek: Hi what's up?
Aliesha: Nothing much really...kinda bored...and I'll BRB...

Hours later:

Derek: I thought you said you would BRB...you lied!
Aliesha: No...i didn't lie
Derek: Then why did you comment on Facebook 30 mins ago??? You were still at the computer...you didn't want to talk to me...i see how it is
