It's area of origin is often argued, commonly cited as being from the bay area.

It was made more popular recently after being used in the Life Is Strange game series

Hella

A word that originated in the 1980's in the Central Valley of Northern California (Stockton, Tracy, Manteca, Lathrop) area. Was NOT originally a Bay Area word. In fact when I went to college at Berkeley in the 1990's, we knew who was from the Central Valley by use of the word "hella." Recently, however, the word Hella has migrated to the rest of the Bay Area.

Dude, that is hella cool, or Man, that is hella good!

At minimum 60 months. Hella in this case is a measurement of at least 5 years/ 60 months. So saying HELLA HELLA months is 10 years.
