2020 themed party

Another way of saying “we’re not having a party” because of, you know, the 2020 global pandemic. Also can mean that you aren’t going out and instead will be by yourself in your room on a weekend.

This definition is from Reddit, created by u/jacksparrowpenfan and u/brewtality when asked “ If in 40 years, instead of throwing an 80’s themed party, people threw a 2020’s themed party, what/who would they go as?” in r/AskReddit.
Person 1: "You coming out tonight?"
Person 2: "Nah, throwing a 2020 themed party."
Person 1: "Drinking alone and reading about how to make bread?"
Person 2: "Yup."

Alternatively...
Person 1: What’s the plan for the after party?
Person 2: It’s 2020 themed, bro. My mom paid me a surprise visit this weekend.
Person 1: Damn, we’ll do something next weekend, then.

Cold weather party

A party celebrating cold weather, outside in the cold. Traditionally, white russians and hot toddies are served. Alternatively, whiskey. You can only go inside to use the bathroom, depending on host preference, and the more guests complain about being cold, the more successful the party is considered.

This type of gathering originated in the Southern Hemisphere, where warm blooded mammals paid tribute to the gods for the brief ability to breath and sleep and go without blistering in the sun.
