According to legend Pilot the Dune referst to a French wartime firefighter pilot named Pierre LaDune. As a firefighter pilot, his main duty was dropping water on fires. He was known as Pilot: LaDune, or Pilot the Dune, if you will. Whenever he would drop water to extinguish fires he thought of it as "raining", and when it rained, he felt love.
