Put your thumb down

"Put your thumb down" is a phrase that is used when someone try's to throw up the horns (a gesture where you pull in you middle, ring and thumb into your palm. Often used by fans of the metal genre. )but leave the thumb extended.

Often said to newer metalheads or posers. (Keep in mind if you make the mistake as a new metalhead it does not make you a poser.)

Metalhead: "DruidLord is brutal"
New Metalhead: "Fuck yeah it is" *throws horns with thumb*
Metalhead: "Put your thumb down!"
New Metalhead: "shit sorry"

The opposite of chickening out.

To "man-up" or "step-up".

"I've had quite a few drinks tonight, I probably shouldn't drive you guys to T-Bell"
