mental presence 

To be present in the mind of another without physically being there, by way of previous interaction or discourse.

A disruptive memory, either positive or negative, which affect one's immediate ability to think or make decisions based on previous exposure to written language, spoken a language, and body language (including multi-media).

Ruggedly handsome presence

Definition:
A noticeable attractiveness or dignified appearance in a person that remains visible despite rough living conditions, worn or dirty clothing, or a generally unpolished exterior. Often caused by strong facial features, posture, or an underlying sense of humanity that contradicts common stereotypes.
He was clearly homeless, but there was a ruggedly handsome presence about him that made people look twice.”
